Not advice
Nothing on this site is financial, legal, tax, accounting, or credit advice. Nothing is an offer, commitment, or solicitation to lend. Nothing is a guarantee that a lender will offer a particular rate, approve an application, or accept a prepayment. Calculators do not consider a reader's full circumstances, and two people who type the same numbers can still face different loans, tax bills, or retirement results.
Estimates
Results depend on the numbers entered and on the rounding rules in the editorial policy. A lender, a servicer, or a spreadsheet using a different convention can show a different payment or a different final row. Mortgage results are principal and interest unless a page says otherwise. They omit taxes, insurance, mortgage insurance, association dues, points, and closing costs. Auto-loan sales tax is a simplified estimate, not a determination of tax due in a state. Savings, retirement, and tax results are estimates too. They use the numbers you type and the rule the page cites. They are not a filed return, a benefit award, or a finding that you are eligible to contribute.
Rates shown when a page loads are examples chosen so the arithmetic can be checked. They are not a market quote and not an average of loans available today. Freddie Mac's Primary Mortgage Market Survey, linked from the comparison page, is one public source for weekly averages. An average is not an offer to a particular borrower.
Check the documents
The promissory note, the Loan Estimate, the Closing Disclosure, the retail installment contract, and the tax rules where a vehicle is titled control the amounts you owe. If a result here and a lender's document disagree, the document is the one attached to the loan. For help with a mortgage you cannot pay, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau points borrowers to HUD-approved housing counselors at (855) 411-2372. That referral is general information from the CFPB, not a service Pennyplotter operates.
No warranty
Calculators and articles are provided as educational material. They may contain errors, and they may become outdated when a source page changes. Pennyplotter disclaims warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the extent the law allows. The terms state the limits on liability that apply.
